Roger Nokes
Dr Roger I. Nokes (born 13 August 1958) is a Professor of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. In 2008 he was voted the best lecturer in the University by students. His speciality is in the area of Fluid Mechanics in which he has undertaken a broad range of research.
Prof. Nokes was the Head of the Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering at Canterbury University between 2009 and 2012. He successfully led the department through the series of earthquakes which struck Canterbury during that time. In 2006, Prof. Nokes was awarded a National Teaching Award for tertiary teaching excellence.〔('Ako Aotearoa' ) retrieved August 16, 2011〕
He is a member of the Royal Society of New Zealand.
